I recently purchased a Pioneer DVD player(DV333), Reciever (VSXD409), JBL NSP1 5 piece system, and JBL PB12 250 watt subwoofer.
The system works really well for any type of CD and for action segments of DVDs. However, there is a major problem when people are talking on DVDs (which does not occur when people talk on CDs). When the only sound coming from a DVD is talking, there is a very annoying noise coming from the subwoofer. It sounds sort of like the sound you get when tapping on a microphone. I have no idea what to do about this, or what component is causing this problem. We do do have dual laser pickup, and I am wondering if the dvd player could be the problem. Have checked the optical cable and crossover levels, and cannot find anything wrong. Please help me!
