HDTV built in speakers

I recently removed the grills from my Toshiba 40H80 and found cheapo, paper cones speakers - 4" round.
Any thoughts on replacing them w/ a car speaker, 4" coax Jensen etc.??? Has anyone attempted this?
My Mitsu 55857 has the same cheap paper cone speakers as well. Must be typical in the industry. Easier to build in electronics to enhance the sound than put in better speakers!
