I was wondering if anyone could help me diagnose a problem I'm having
with my Hitachi 53FDX01B set that I just purchased last weekend. I'm having problems with a double-image or 'ghosting' on both the DirecTV S-video input and the component input from my DVD player. The problem seems to be the same on both inputs; it's a very small transparent ghost image that can be seen to the right ( or left ) of an image, particularly when viewing dark images on a light background or text. The width of the 'ghost' is very narrow, -only about 1/8"-1/4" wide and might not be noticeable if it wasn't for the large 53" display. I've checked and tweaked the convergence and I think that it's pretty well adjusted. I also adjusted the color settings and brightness/contrast with the use of the Video Essentials CD. One thing that I did notice is that the 'Sharpness' control seems to have no effect on the picture whatsoever. Is there a way to adjust the picture focus and if so could that possibly be the problem? Also, the color when using the 'cool' setting still seems a bit too red; am I correct to assume the only way to get the color temperature dialed in is to have a tech adjust the set? -Thanks in advance for any help!~
