VCR and TV Channel Tuning: Analog for Now

NOTE: If someone has updated info on the subject within this post, please let me know.

At present, TV's and VCR's can only tune analog channels {VHF 2-13, UHF 14-69, CABLE 2-125}.

The (ahem) "Brilliant Minds" who make TV's and VCR's have yet to make them "DIGITAL-READY".
Roughly translated, that means you have to tune channels thru that cursed external box supplied by your friendly neighborhood cable company or satellite dish provider.

A brilliant solution, which I doubt will ever come to pass, is this--

TV's and VCR's with a jack that accepts input from a special multi-serve digital box, which also could have a built-in 6-outlet power strip!

This multi-serve digital box would distribute the digital signal to each TV and/or VCR hooked up to it. The box would be programmed by the cable or dish company. Then the box would in turn program each connected TV and VCR. The tuners of each TV or VCR would then be able to tune and receive all the channels that you are subscribing to and do so independantly of each other.

Thanx-A-Lot and Enjoy,
Frank
