Advise on new TV, please

Can anyone recommend:
1) What to buy
2) Where to buy it?
I have about $400-$500 to spend. Would like either a 27" Trinitron w/ Picture-in-picture or a 32" Tube TV. I think.
* The Wega TV's are a bit more. Are they really worth it?
* I may be able to get 20% at Sears, if that helps.
(Not the best place to buy, but hey...)
* Opinions of WalMart, Circuit City, etc.?
