The arm fluid needs to settle after making adjustments, and it sounds like sufficient time was not allowed for this to happen.I've had a WT Classic and I now use a WT Reference. After setup, you should not have to make any major adjustments for years! I check azimuth occasionally, but WT makes a very stable system.
Just have your friend return for a repeat performance and check his installation.
