I have had this player and the 525, in my opinion the Panasonic RP-91 blows them away. The RP56 should also be good.

The Panasonic has no chroma bug evident in all the Pioneer (and almost everyone elses models) and it has no annoying whine and the audio quality is far superior. The Panasonic also has better progressive scan which you may want if you have a better tv and can automatically resize picture to fit any tv aspect as well as manually scale the picture up and down. All for $299 (RP56) - $499 (RP91).
