Bad Idea.

I agree with Lasermeister. Using two will just create destructive interference, which will distort voices in a VERY bad way. Also, this will put a large strain on your amp if you connect them in parallel as you said. Also, as Lasermeister said, your center channel speaker should be as good, if not BETTER quality as your other front channels. If this is for a dedicated HT setup, the center channel gets the most workout of all the speakers, and is really the breaking point between okay/good/great/mindblowing. If these speakers are not high quality, just run your system in Stereo until you get a good center. Cheers!
