All you have to do is look at the history of surround to answer that question..... you certainly should not buy a receiver expecting that it has the formats to end all formats already built in!!You should consider what enjoyment you are going to get out of it and not think about the fact that there will be other formats (and in my opinion DTS is far better than DD) that will supplant it.
