I'm looking at the Sony Wega XBR television today when the salesman shows me the Panasonic CT-32XF56 for the same price ($1526.00 "on-sale"). Anyway, he starts talking about progressive scan DVD players that are soon to come on the market with a different component video data rate (higher) that can plug into the back. He also showed me an HDTV signal squeezed onto the 4:3 screen. It looked a little weird because of the aspect ratio not being right, but he said the new tuner from Panasonic fixes that with letter boxing...Anyone know if this is all true?
How much will my (now obsolete) DVD player cost to replace with the new progressive scan?
How good of a picture will be displayed by the DTV tuner on the 32" 4:3 screen?
Can I live without this?
Should I stick with analog until I can get a "true" HDTV with 16:9?Scott
