I have owned a lex mc1, I was not very impressed with it at all, for the money you can due better, for instance you can get a new claase ssp25 for around $2000, musicly it is much better than the lex, and in ht it holds its own, after trying many preamps I am now using the new krell hts which takes everything to a new level, for the money you wish to spend I think you should look into the classe, let your ears be your guide, good luck
