Back on topic....the 790 was one of Pie-in-your-ear's dressed up cheapo LD players.
Much cheaper build quality and cheap 'n nasty E-turn mechanism with rather awful digital picture processing. No coax out only an optical.Picture quality on par with the 925, only so-so , neither are a patch on the 703/704 players.
Still as a first LD player it's adequate. Has features like two side play and digital field memory. But only if it's CHEAP !
I've got a copy of the Pie-in-your-ear 1997-1998 catalogue with the 90 series players if you need a scan.
