top 100 rated panasonic ptl500u projector.anything better at that price?

I want a projector and am a bit lost. I need to mount to the ceiling and can't spend a fortune. Can one expect to find a decent one used? As with my analog hi-fi I will sucum to buying a replacment soon after I see what I'm missing? Please guide me thru this.
