I'm looking for recs. for a $250-350 DVD/CD player that sounds good with redbook cd's. i just sold my NAD c541i cd player, I was thinking my $79 Toshiba DVD player would suffice for CD playback- IT AIN'T!
I'm gonna give that to my in-laws and buy a new player. There seems to be SO MANY available; Denon, Sony, Panny, Toshiba, Pioneer, onkyo, etc-etc. i don't have much time to audition(plus local retailers really aren't that great). Was planning on buying mail-order or from local shop that sells Sony, Yamaha, Denon.i want as good a redbook playback as possible along with a good video picture(progressive scan), no HDMI or whatever its called. I DO NOT desire DVD-A or SACD and do not want to "tweak" to get better sound just don't have the time. Either single-disc or 5-disc changer is fine.
Any suggestions are appreciated but please offer a little insight as to why you like a certain player.
thanks!!
