You can do better than the typical cheapie cables provided with the VCR / DVD player / or cable box. To what extent higher-end cables will improve your picture will vary. If your cable runs are long then most definitely YES, quality cables will make a difference. For shorter runs probably not as much of an improvement.The higher-quality cables from Radio Shack are fine for most applications where the cables aren't very long. Radio Shack also sells Monster Cable but personally I think Monster Cable is over priced and a lot more than most people need. You can get better cable for less. Just my 2-cents.
