Any cable put between components has a detrimental effect (eg; it decreases the performance of the connected components). What you should look for in a cable is the one that causes the least damage and preserves as much of the original signal as possible.WidescreenReview did a "scientific" shootout several years ago comparing video cables using test signals and an O-scope. MonsterCable M1000v (composite cable) was at the top of the list, next to Belden cable with Canare connectors (the best combination for a video cable).
Why would you want to (possibly) spend more money on a down-grade?
