Wire for rears

I need to upgrade the wire I am using for the rear surrounds. I currently have a run of about 35' of cheap flat (to go under the carpet)wire. When there is no surround signal to the rears they hiss.I am thinking that I need twisted wire to reduce this hiss, however I will then need to go under the floor so the run would be longer. Any ideas for a cheap alternative to what I have?
