Large LCDs are still the most expensive display technology. An LCD the size you're seeking is going to cost a lot more than EDTV plasma. I've seen several 42" EDTV plasmas on sale for well under $3 grand. One, Sylvania, was only $2,000 at Good Guys, and looked just as good as the Sony and Phillips. I read somewhere LG owns the Sylvania name now. Made me think hard about EDTV vs HDTV. From 10 feet away....
