Cary is great stuff - give it a chance to break in...

The Cary DACs need 200 hours, some dealers say 400 hours, to fully break in. My stand alone CDp certainly did. When fully broken in, my Cary 303 completely blew away my Arcam, which was a nice piece of gear. I bet your pre/pro has a ways to go yet if you're only at 40 hours.

I love AVSforum for video info - it's the best on the web. But it's not a good place to go for info on music making machines. Most of 'em have no-to-limited experience with high end gear so they've never heard the difference between that and mass market/mid-fi. I doubt most of 'em care.

I always chuckle to myself when I read posts from guys buying 10K displays and HTIAB.
