Re: Help needed -Bad HD Hookups

I just went to work for a DTV service provider in Des Moines, IA and I can tell you that most if not all of the installers wouldn't know a DVI cable from a cat.5 cable. I would venture to guess that many of the HD receivers get hooked up with the RF (coax) cable and the customer rarely gets HD reception. These installers mostly come from a construction background and want to get out of the customer's house and on to the next job. And... Can you blame them? They get paid an extra $5 - $10 for an HD reciever rather than a standard def. Myself - I will spend the extra 90 seconds and use the best connection available but I'm sure most of the other techs do not - especially since they probably don't know how and have never even taken the time to read the manual for the equipment they're installing! Good luck -DW
