1. You get a shiny new addressable cable box which lets you buy naughty channels and PPV events
2. You purchase a PPV event, or a certain amount of time of a naughty channel
3. The cable company pings your cable box to let you watch the PPV
4. You plug in the blocker thingy, and it prevents the cable company from pinging your box again to shut the channel off
5. Voila! You have free access to PPV or naughty channels ad infinitumOr, at least, that's how it *could* work. If I were the cable company, I'd just ping the cable box with something like "allow the user to watch channel 412 for 24 hours, then shut off access." This would bypass the hack nicely.
BTW that seems like a lot of money for what's basically a notch filter. Probably costs a dollar to make.
