I'm new to the whole widescreen phenomenon, but am looking forward to making a purchase sometime in the near future. One question that I haven't found an answer to, though, is how widescreens handle foreign films with subtitles in the bottom black bar. As an example, subtitles on Kurosawa's Yojimbo appear in the bottom letterbox area on my 4:3 crt. Will they be visible (or can they be made visible) on a widescreen? I know there are some zoom capabilities on most widescreens, but that seems like a compromise.
Thanks in advance for any insight....
