In a nutshell, it will use Blu-Ray for the physical media and the HD-DVD format for the software encoding. Look for the format "on disc" to be 1080p24 (this "output" may not be available from first gen players) and use VC-1 or H.264 (not sure if it will be Advanced Profile) for the video. It will offer up to 7.1 discrete channels of audio and, if lossless audio is used, it will be either DTS-HD Lossless or MLP (recently renamed Dolby Digital Lossless) -- sadly they don't have to offer lossless audio.If all goes well, look for an official announcement in a week or so. And like Pitt/Jolie, probably lots of denial until then.
