Higoing to get my homecinema completed with a beamer and still keeping my backprojection TV set for everyday use.
That's raising questions regarding the Magnepan CC3 centerspeaker, I am using.
Right now, it is sitting perfectly on top of the TV. The screen for the beamer will have to come down in front of the TV, so unfortunately it will cover the CC3.
There are two options I have:
- get a "microperforated" screen (sorry, if this isn't the exact term) and leave the CC3, where it is
- mount the CC3 20cm above the wooden floor in front of the TVThat raises the following questions:
- does anyone of you have experiences with these screens in terms of sound quality? Of course, it will dampen high frequencies, but I hope that the automatic setup of my DENON 3805 can adjust to that. But otherwise - any "acoustical" objections of using that kind of screen? Can I see the "dots" from a distance of 3 - 3.5 meters? Will the dots have any visual effect on the projected picture?
- if I mount the CC3 differently, it would have to sit RIGHT in front of the TV and only 20 cm above the floor. Especially giving it no "air to breathe" in the back seems not to be a good idea to me. Can I improve the situation by damping the back?
Thanks for helping
Joerg
