Analog to digital converter allows you to transfer your VHS tapes to your home computer. From there you can create DVD's from your recordings. The ADVC300 is an improvement over the ADVC100 (which I have). The 300 can improve and clean the video signal being transfered. A little pricey ($400+) but has other features that almost make it worth the price.
