Hi, I am thinking of venturing into HT without spending a lot of $$$ and I am wondering whether anyone has advice on doing 4 speakers without a center channel or a subwoofer. I am considering a used Bryston SP1 as a processor because it has a 2 ch analogue bypass so I can still do clean old fashion stereo. I would be using my Dynaudio Confidence 5s as front LR driven by Bryston PowerPac 300 monoblocks. Are there any sonic or practical issues to consider with a phantom center and no subwoofer?
What suggestions would you have for rear speakers and amp(s). I am thinking about possibly a used pair of Dynaudio monitors with a used pair of Bryston powerpac 120s.
Thanks, Al
