What about the Momitsu V880?

Thanks for the reply. I'm trying to figure out if the Momitsu also works with non-HDCP compliant monitors. Some sites say yes, some say no.

I went to a local high-end shop yesterday that carries a lot of digital monitors. Even the very best LCD monitors receiving a direct HDMI feed looked fairly bad. All of their digital TVs had a light haze of noise covering the entire picture, macroblocking and artifacts. My two ISF-calibrated analog monitors (one RPTV, one CRT) look much better than the digital sets. They may show line structure but they both present a cleaner picture with much more detail without any artifacts except for occasional stairstep aliasing on horizontal pans.

I think my expectations may be too high for what LCD monitors can deliver.
