the dreaded beta tester syndrome. The one dominant point that every one seems to be missing with the HD DVD\Blu ray roll out is back wards compatability with current DVD's and CD's. All DVD players were designed to play back CD's but because of the different wave length of the red laser, CD playback has and continues to be compromised for all but the most sophisticated, costly players. Has anyone considered the compromises involved in playback of current DVDs and CDs on HD DVD/Blu Ray units that use a BLUE LASER! We are certainly adding to the stew yet more clocking and multiple laser issues...hmmm! Let's enjoy our SACDs, CDs and DVDs on current and pending players and let the new technologies settle down for the next 1-2 years.
