HiI have been an audiophile for 25 years. I just replaced a 23 y/o TV with a 32" LCD Flat panel Sony HDTV compatable TV. My Cable company offers :
1) Standard cable box
2) HDTV cable box that has no HDMI connection.
3) HDTV with HDMI/RecorderI am visually impaired, so getting a very sharp picture with good contrast is very important.
We also have a VCR attached. I don't know if this has any bearing on this.
The box with basic HDTV support is $5 per month surcharge. The cable box wuth HDMI support is $8 per month surcharge.
Is the HDTV worth it and if so, is the HDMI that much better? What HDMI cables are best if it is better to go with HDMI?
Thanks,
Jay
