I have HDMI

Of course... my tv has one version of hdmi and my cabel box has a different and incompatible version.....

Don't sweat hdmi, component cables are 99% as good. You have about a dozen real problems to woory about.

I agree with the other guy. Look for package deals at home theater places, a few hundred for the speakers, 200-300 for the receiver.

The first place to upgrade is the subwoofer. At this price range you are getting a bass box, not a sub woofer. Dr Hsu makes good subs cheap when you want to do that.
