There are 1080p TVs and projectors out there. The TVs are getting more common, look at the Sony SXRD LCOS TVs (they should be available there), 1080 Projectors are rare birds, and will cost you, but they do exist. The difference between 1080p and 720p native resolution is quite noticable. I don't really know whats available in the UK, but I would think that the same sets, more or less, that are available here would be there.
