I bought one of these Super NTSC devices at Volunteers of America for $5, far less than the original list price! It had a couple screws missing and so someone has looked inside at one time or another.I don't have the right TV and the right cables to check it out properly, but did hook it up to my computer monitor, and fed a videotape into it as program material. All the control adjustments of the Faroudja appear to work, BUT . . .
The picture bends in about an inch part way down, for maybe 15% of the total image measured horizontally.
Questions: Is there any demand for line doublers nowadays when there are line quadruplers and Hi-Def stuff. Should I throw this away or would someone buy it on eBay? Is it something that someone could fix or would it cost more than it is now worth (no longer many thousands of dollars)?
Thanks!
