Repair of Sony SLV-555 VHS VCR

TVs, VCRs, DVD players, Home Theater systems and more.

Does anyone know of a good source for repairing this VCR (in the US), or for acquiring another one (yes, I know about eBay)? My local guy says parts are no longer available. This is a great unit with great features and I don't want to throw it away. (And, I've got a boatload of VHS tapes.)
Alternatively, ideas for finding a pro broadcast unit would also be good.
