You don't quite have it right. The '05 SXRD has a native resolution of 1080p, but *cannot* accept a 1080p signal. It will take a 1080i interlaced signal, and deinterlace it to 1080p. If your denon will upscale to 1080p, the TV will not accept it. Period. You will have to have the Denon upscale to 1080i and send that signal to the TV, which will turn it to 1080p.
FWIW, upscaling a DVD to 1080p is NOT the same as seeing true 1080p source material-though it IS nice.:-)
