I have an old (early 90's) but fairly high end Linn system using 5103 pre, aktiv 5140 Mains and aktiv 5120 centre.
I could use either Keilidhs or Katans as rears though the Katans have different tweeter and the Keilidh (though the same tweeter)is a floorstander with the tweeter only 24" above floor level( I'm assuming this is not ideal for rear speakers.I am thinking of selling the Keilidhs and buying used 5140's to match my Mains. This gets the tweeter just above ear height and matching is no-issue. Worth it?
Next cosideration is whether to take the rears Aktiv? Is there really enough rear information to make this worthwhile?
I'm a vinyl 2 channel guy at heart but love surround for movies.
Going Aktiv given my current gear is probably another $1500 investment. Benefit worth it?Thanks for your help.
