This appears to basically be a Sony PR piece, rather than from Target themselves, and the Blu-Ray "exclusive" appears to be that Target stores will now carry the new entry-level Sony player, which will be the first standalone HD player of any kind that Target stores have carried to date. This exclusive is in effect until the end of the year.
All in all, it sounds like good news for high-def in general, and bad news for no one in particular (despite what Sony would have us believe). Target stores currently carry a small selection of B-D and HD DVD movies, and the HD DVD add-on for Xbox.
