Blockbuster: Apparently only one store in the Denver metro area carries any kind of high-def, and the location isn't handy for me. There's only one store that is pretty close to where I frequent, and they couldn't tell me when they'd have anything high-def available, only that they expected to eventually have Blu-Ray.
Total amount spent at Blockbuster in the past 24 months: $0
Target: The store nearest me *has* moved the plastic divider over a notch, reducing HD DVD to two columns and expanding Blu-Ray to 4. However, stock and selection in either format remains poor.
Total amount spent on high-def at Target to date: $0
Circuit City: More or less format-agnostic, they also have one of the better in-store selections of B-D and HD DVD movies, and stock seems to be replenished regularly (Yes!! Someone brought in "Hot Fuzz"!)
Total amount spent on high-def at Circuit City to date: ~$200
