Yea, I had 1200 too. If you scan down this page or so, you'll see my rants. The 1200 was clearly just a stop gap product for them-it was supposed to be replaced by the 2400, which was canceled. Mine had major isuues as well, and actually got worse after the FW update. If it makes you fell better, Sony's S-300 also has a few issues, and I saw 3 open box units at best buy last time I was there.
I refuse to buy a PS3, so I bought a Sharp player instead. I've had no problems with it. It actually has a better picture (BD) and sound than the Sammy.
