I realise answers like that will send your head spinning, but truthfully can't be helped.

1) There will be some movies that have been long out-of-print & won't be re-released in any format, reguardless. Unless, of course, technology makes it viable for a very small business to do so.

2) There is a minority of people (of which I'm one) that prefer LD picture quality over DVD.

3) You get a LDP w/ Y/C DNR options & AC-3 which will ensure the very best picture & sound available.

If any/all the above strikes you where you live ... by all means buy it, but the vary fact you have to ask ... probably means "NO".
