I can put your mind to ease about one thing: The two inputs are indeed totally independent The salesman was wrong. Plugging into one does not override the other.Now, as to the gold color: That was a big plus for me. I'm so sick of black this and black that. I would have jumped at almost any other color, and this "champagne" color is just the ticket. His price of $499 was high, however. Don't pay more than $450.
