I would like opinions on the Marantz AV-9000 Dolby Digital/DTS/THXPreamp/Processor. This unit lists for $1.800.00 and it has most of what I would want for HT. And of course it comes with the(I belive) one the best remotes available.
A general question I have about Marantz is; how good have their products been in general the last few years? I had a Marantz receiver in the 70â€™s (I just bought Marantz 2245 for $20.00 thatâ€™s incredible) and Marantz made great products. I read greatthings about their mono block amps MA-500 and MA-700, but I cannot say I have read anything lately about their Preamps. I have a dealer in my area so this could be a good choice for me. If I can get these questions answered....
1. Could anybody comment from first hand use how this unit preforms for HT, but also how would you rate it for music?
2. Are any of the DSPâ€™s on this unit any good? Anything to compare to the Denon 5 channel mode?
3. How much did you end up paying for the unit from a dealer?
4. I have heard something (not good) about the way it processâ€™s 96/24 audio. Could someone fill me in on this?
