Hi there

You need to spend some reading time at the DIY screen section of the AVS Forum. You can read about mixing your own or buying premade (Goo).

You'll need to make sure your wall is _really_ flat, if you want to get proper focus and also eliminate viewing distractions. Very few walls are truely flat.

Actual screen color will depend on the projector you use. LCD projectors tend to have poor contrast, so screens are often painted grey or silver. CRT projectors usually use flat or eggshell pure-white screens.
