This one surprised me. Virtual dead heat in Standalone sales; I was under the impression HD DVD had a 60:40 sales edge on Blu-ray but BD players must have sold an enormous amount during December to close the gap. So much for the HD DVD standalone sales edge.

Maybe 3 minutes spent on HD DVD and no mention of new HD DVD players. It could mean Toshiba is waving the white flag.

I'm still wondering about the rumors Toshiba was working on deal to bring both Warner and Fox to the HD DVD side with Fox backing out at the 11th hour. Warner knew going HD DVD exclusive would only result in a stalemated format war so Toshiba tried to recruit Fox (and nearly succeeded) .And when Fox backed out, Warner decided to go Blu-ray exclusive instead to try to end the war. Or Fox was simply stringing HD DVD along to wring more concessions from the BDA....
