No DTS on Hell freezes Over

209.179.194.86

Here's the setup: Marantz SR-8000 receiver, Onkyo Integra DPS-5 DVD player, Straight Wire Silver Link II 75 ohm coax cable, Eagles "Hell Freezes Over" DVD. The SR-8000 has a built-in DTS decoder and the DPS-5 can send the DTS signal out via digital bitstream.

The DPS-5 is connected to the SR-8000 via the coax cable and is recognized by the receiver via digital coax input #1. The DPS-5 is defaulted to
bitstream out. We have been able to play DD 5.1 material (Fleetwood Mac's "The Dance", "The Fifth Element", etc.) without problems. Occasionally,
we need to press the Audio button for the DVD player to switch from 2 channel mode to 5.1.

We have been attempting to play "Hell Freezes Over", which is DTS, but it's a no go. After the video starts in 2 channel (PCM) mode, I attempt to
change it to DTS mode (which on the DPS-5 is either 5.1 or 6 ch). It won't let me. I get a symbol in the right-hand corner indicating that I can't do
it.

The strange part is that I can stop the DVD, press the Audio button, and switch to 6 ch mode. Once I press play to continue the video, it switches
back to 2 channel mode (actually PCM/DPL mode). I tried to enter the menu on the DVD itself, but all I seem to be able to do is either start the
video or select an individual song on the DVD.

This one has got me stumped! What am I overlooking here?
