I do not own either, but I have been shopping and these are both on my short list. I was more impressed with the Pioneer. One of the main reasons is how the fill/zoom works for for 4X3 pictures. The Pioneer did the better job utilizing a combination of fill and Zoom. I watched both at a dealer set up on the same piped in signal. This is a dealer who pushed Mitsubishi but even he admitted Poineer did the better job. If that conversion is not a factor to you I would call it a toss up and go on price.
