Planning to buy my first non CRT big screen soon. Viewing distance is ten-eleven feet so I was thinking about a 50". I was hopeing to buy a 1080p so that the component(technology) would be valid for more than a few years. I have a son in college and another on the way so money is an object. Can I settle for a DLP? Will I only get 5,000 hours from the tube? Which brand is most reliable? Have been looking at the Sony SXRD(is that correct?) and could afford that. Should I hold out and save for an LCD? 50" is not a common size for LCDs and they are spendy. Thanks in advance for any and all comments. Tom in Oregon BTW George Bush is an idiot and I voted for him. sorry.......
