Wife and I have visited more than a few big box stores and following the advice of asylum members, we made note of lighting, angles, audio, remote performance and ability to make the desired adjustments. Some of the better sets were so poorly setup that I am surprised they sell at all. I work in graphic arts. Spend much time in Photoshop and need to be able to manipulate the video. We were leaning toward the Sony 50" SXRD rear projection as it was consistantly pleasing in all environments. Plazmas were soon removed from the mix because of reflections. Weight and energy consumtion is also a negative for us with the Plazmas. The 52" Sharp LCD 1080p performes well, has a good remote, decent audio(we only use the HT for movies and a few TV shows). A fair amount more(dollars) but the long term expense of maintaining a DLP is a negative. Also I do not like the idea of progressive dimming as the bulb fades. I am wondering if the long term consistant performance of the LCD makes it a good choice. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks in advance- Tom
