In Dolby Digital DVD movies, what constitutes a full range speaker? Or what is full range enough?I have a pair of Sound Dynamics RTS-7 fronts that go down to 42Hz. They play bass quite well, and usually run them as Large when watching a movie. My center and surrounds are set to Small which directs <80Hz bass to the subwoofer.
I'm worried that by running my fronts as Large, I may be missing bass info from 20Hz-42Hz in the fronts. Are a lot of DD movies heavy in sub bass for the front speakers?... or do they usually route such frequencies to the LFE output.
I'd rather not run my front speakers as Small because they sound quite nice going down to the 42Hz listed, but if I am not missing an octave of anything important, then I'll just leave it!
