A few weeks ago after futzing with my DirecTV Sat receiver for a couple of days and some troubleshooting, I find out that I need to get a new sat reciever.Swell.
Ok, after dinking around on a Saturday, the wife and I decide to wander around Circuit City...
She said while I go hunt down the receiver, she would check out the big screens.
"Ok,", I said... "Be right back."
When I got back my wife was apparently replaced by an alien because a few hours later I was the proud owner of a Panasonic TH-50PX60U HDTV, a new entertainment stand and other assorted goodies!
"WHO ARE YOU AND WHAT HAVE YOU DONE WITH MY WIFE?!?"
Ok, I didn't say that, but I certainly thought it.
Well, after:
STRIKE 1: (We saw them push through the wall mount installation order but the outfit that was supposed to do it said they never got it)
STRIKE 2: TORNADOES! (No installers available... Sorry!)
Then after pleadings aand threats, finally got it installed late last night)
After some quick and dirty pic adjusts, my conclusion:
Freakin' Fantastic!
Wifey was mucho impresssed as well and loves the wall mount and new stand!
I bought an Oppo sometime back when my DVD died so I was ready for this upgrade.
But now a report from the irony department:
Never did get the HD DirecTV Receiver and Recorder unit I wanted:
EVERYONE IS OUT ALL OVER....
Now I have to wait for DTV to get the equipment and new dish I require... *sigh*, so it goes.
We'll be out of sat service for about a month (and yes, I will make sure that I get my money back for the missed month of service, too).
But at least I get to watch some killer quality movies in the meantime - can't wait to get everything all arranged and the audio readjusted as well...
This is just *too* cool!
