So I got my Motorola DCT3416 High Def DVR from Time-Warner cable. It's the latest and greatest HD DVR with 160 Gig HD, HDMI output, etc.I'm using an HDMI-DVI cable to my 60" Sony Grand Wega III, and the picture quality is not quite what I want. Sure, I expected the compressed SD channels to look bad, and it does, just like the previous Moxi HD DVR or 811 HD receiver from DISH, but the brightness and contrast seem too low even with HD channels compared to those other HD receivers I've had.
I had to turn up the brightness, contrast, sharpness significantly higher to arrive at similar bright/sharp PQ as other receivers. Even then, I think the PQ is still a bit murky and dark. Anyone else?
